“We absolutely love Joy in the Journey and I literally cannot say enough good things about them! Kerry has gone above and beyond to help make sure my son has a voice. She adapts to whatever his needs are each visit to ensure that they have a connection keeping their time together productive. He is autistic, level 3 and is non verbal, so this can be very challenging. We are especially excited with the progress he has made using his AAC device. Kerry found a program that has been working for him. He used it unprompted for the first time recently and ever since it has been Kerry’s mission to make sure that the program has been customized to meet his specific needs. She has added his favorite activities, places, and foods. She patiently works with him at each session encouraging him to use the device to express himself, he is even learning to share his feelings which includes being frustrated at times. I picked him up from school today and he had a meltdown when I pulled in my driveway. I encouraged him to show me on the device what was wrong. He told me he wanted to go to the trampoline park! She has truly helped him find his voice and for that we will forever be thankful to her and to Joy in the Journey staff!!”
